The Blume Method

Watch every student Blume.

Blume turns everyday classroom data into a story of growth: from the first observation to a goal met, every student's progress is measured, visible, and worth celebrating.

  1. ObserveMeet the student where they are
  2. BaselineSet a goal on real data
  3. ProgressTrack growth, session by session
  4. BlumeA goal met, and defensible

In the classroom

Built with educators, for the students they show up for.

Blume was shaped by special educators who know the Friday-afternoon reality of the job. Every screen exists to give teachers more time with their students, and every student a plan that actually fits them.

Real growth, session by session.

How it works

From observation to action.

Notebook brings student data, goals, and progress monitoring together so educators can see where a student started, where they're going, and how they're progressing.

Identify area of need

Start every goal on solid ground. Choose from a library of skills and lock in exactly what you'll measure, so the goal stays clear and consistent all year.

Build the baseline

Know where each student truly starts. Jot a few quick observations and Blume tells you when there's enough to set a fair, realistic target.

Finalize targets

Set targets you can stand behind. Blume suggests realistic targets from real baseline data, so the plan is ambitious and achievable, not guesswork.

Monitor progress

Always know how a student is doing. Every observation shows at a glance whether they're on track, so you can step in early when it matters.

Measurement

Measure progress your way.

Notebook supports ten different measurement methods, so educators can collect meaningful data using the approach that best fits each student's goals.

  • Accuracysuccesses over opportunities
  • Frequencyoccurrences per session
  • Rateoccurrences per minute
  • Fluencycorrect responses per minute
  • Engagementattempted over presented
  • Time on taskshare of the session engaged
  • Occurrencedid the behavior occur
  • Latencytime until the response began
  • Durationhow long the behavior lasted
  • Magnitudeintensity on a defined scale

The Blume App provides a streamlined, user-friendly platform that has been a helpful tool as we shift to the new IEP format. The app enables efficient data collection, progress tracking, and documentation. Its real-time tracking features help educators stay compliant while reducing paperwork, allowing them to concentrate more on student needs. By centralizing information, the app also encourages collaboration among team members and promotes consistency in implementing individualized support, with a focus on building students' strengths to develop their skills.
