  With over 45 years of experience in special education, Allan Blume has established himself as a thought leader in the field, specializing in guiding educators and parents through the transition to the new IEP format. Recognizing that while those who write IEPs are deeply committed to doing what is best for their students, they often find the process daunting, Allan developed the Blume Method to simplify and enhance IEP writing. This method provides practical tools, including formulas and sentence starters, to make the process more manageable, consistent across levels and buildings, and efficient, while preserving the critical principle of individualization at the heart of every IEP.

  Colleen is an experienced special education teacher who is passionate about empowering students to find their voice in the IEP process. With a deep love for working with kids, she brings energy, creativity, and innovative ideas to ensure the IEP process is engaging and student-centered. Colleen is dedicated to making every student feel heard and valued, using her expertise to create a collaborative environment where students can actively participate in shaping their educational journey. Her approach combines fun and innovation, making the IEP process not only effective but also meaningful and enjoyable for the students she supports.

  Adrienne Rogers MS. Ed.

  Adrienne Rogers brings nearly two decades of experience in special education to her work with The Blume Method LLC. A former teacher, paraprofessional, and college adjunct professor, Adrienne has dedicated her career to improving outcomes for students with diverse learning needs. She also served as an Educational Specialist at Boston Children’s Hospital, where she helped families navigate the complex intersection of healthcare and education.

  At Blume, Adrienne bridges her deep understanding of classroom realities with innovative educational technology, helping schools streamline data collection, enhance professional development, and strengthen IEP implementation. Passionate about empowering educators and fostering collaboration, Adrienne’s work reflects her belief that meaningful change in education starts with connection, compassion, and practical tools that make a difference.

  Alex Caldwell

  Special Educator · MEd

  Alexandra Caldwell (she/her) has been a Special Education Teacher for more than 21 years. The majority of those years have been spent in early ed special education with a focus on students with Autism. She holds a Masters degree in education, and graduate certificates in Autism Studies and Applied Behavior Analysis. She currently teaches a full-day substantially separate preschool program in Bourne, MA.

  Alexandra has spent countless hours taking data and writing IEPs based on her students’ needs. Her strong advocacy skills reach far beyond the classroom, as she is passionate about speaking up for equal rights and fighting for those with less privilege. She lives with her wife, three children, and many pets on Cape Cod.

• Ashley Fogarty, M.Ed.

  Ashley Fogarty is an experienced special educator and administrator based in Saratoga Springs, New York, where she lives with her husband and their daughter.

  Since beginning her career in 2005, most of Ashley’s career has been based in Massachusetts, with a short hiatus to New York City. Ashley has taught and led in diverse educational settings across New York and Massachusetts, including Framingham Public Schools, Uncommon Schools in New York City, and UP Education Network, a small network of Horace Mann charter schools in Boston and Lawrence, where she served as Director of Student Services. Her roles have spanned from middle and high school special education teacher to team chair at multiple grade levels, including early education and pre-K.

  In addition to her work with The Blume Method, Ashley proudly serves on the Saratoga Springs City School District Board of Education. After years of implementing and admiring Allan Blume’s data-driven practices from afar, Ashley finally had the opportunity to collaborate with him while working in Plymouth. This experience sparked the idea for the Blume Method App in 2023 when she half-jokingly suggested he “clone himself.”
